約10万インストール、対マルウェアプラグイン、Anti-Malware and Brute-Force Security by ELIに、脆弱性
WordPressには数々のプラグインがありますが、その中でもセキュリティプラグインはそれなりの位置を占めています。ただしそれらの動作原理を理解し、使いこなすのはそれなりの知識を必要とします。
専門家でないと使いこなせない、と言うのは困りますが、せめてそのセキュリティプラグインに脆弱性がないかどうかは自分で調べられるくらいにはなりたいものです。
さて、今回脆弱性が発見されたセキュリティプラグインはAnti-Malware and Brute-Force Security by ELIです。

Anti-Malware and Brute-Force Security by ELI Plugin for WordPress contains a flaw that allows a cross-site scripting (XSS) attack. This flaw exists because the index.php script does not validate input to the ‘exclude_ext’ and ‘exclude_dir’ parameters before returning it to users. This may allow a remote attacker to create a specially crafted request that would execute arbitrary script code in a user’s browser session within the trust relationship between their browser and the server. |

内容としてはクロスサイトスクリプティングと、一般的なのですが、何しろセキュリティプラグインの脆弱性、ということで管理者の方はアップデートの動向に注視したほうが良さそうです。
なお、最新版ではすでにパッチが当てられており、4.15.23が最新バージョンとなります。
管理者の方は、アップデートが推奨です。
